Pakistan says India moves troops, relocates air force

ISLAMABAD, Oct 17 (NNI): India has moved some troops and re-located some air-force assets that may prove to be a threat to Pakistan, Director-General, ISPR Major-General Rashid Qureshi while briefing newsmen along with the Foreign Office spokesman in Islamabad on Wednesday.
He said this movement of troops has become a cause of concern when seen in the context of irresponsible remarks made by the newly appointed Indian Defence Minister George Fernandas and unprovoked firing two days back by India against civilians in Azad Kashmir as well as across the working boundary.
General Rashid Qureshi made it clear that Pakistan armed forces are fully alive to the situation and on a high state of alert to thwart any attempt at mischief or mis-adventure. He pointed out that Pakistan has amply made clear that while world attention remains focused on events in Afghanistan, no one would be allowed to exploit the situation to undertake any hostile or belligerent action against Pakistan.
The Director-General ISPR said Pakistan Armed Forces reserve the right to respond or retaliate appropriately to any act of aggression by India.
He said may be the demonstrations organised in the recent past by some extremist elements may have conveyed impression of weakness in Pakistan. He, however, told India that Pakistanis come together whenever threat emanates against the country.
Replying to a question he said Pakistan is alive to the developing situation across our Eastern border in India and our forces remain alert on that front.
To another question he pointed out that during the past few weeks Indian have been making attempts to implicate Pakistan by doing things like attempted hijacking of an Indian airliner. He said the attempt was to bring the aircraft to a Pakistani airport and blow it up. He said that being the level of thinking in New Delhi, Pakistan will be taking appropriate actions to safeguard its interests.ŚNNI
