ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (NNI): President General,
Pervez Musharraf has said Pakistan believes in peaceful co-existence with
its neighbors but it cherishes peace with
dignity and honour.
In a message to the Graduation Parade at Paskitan Air Forfe Academy Risalpur Saturday, he said to make our defence preparedness credible, we need to train hard and remain ever vigilant. The nation is proud is hard and remain ever vigilant.
"The nation is proud of its armed forces. We should never forget that the path to glory is paved with sweat and blood, as is evident form the examples of our past heroes. The nation expects soldiers, sailors and airmen to excel in courage, spirit of sacrifice and professionalism," the President said. He urged the graduating cadets to take pride in the sublime traditions of PAF.
In his address to the parade, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Abdul Aziz Mirza underlined the need to remain extra vigilant saying our security environment has become all the more endangered in the present geo-strategic scenario in the region. "It is the avowed mission of the enemy to harm Pakistan in all possible manner. Only extreme vigilance and operational readiness can deliver a credible message of authority to the enemy. Fortunately, we are accustomed to fighting outnumbered. This confidence coupled with an unshakable faith in our noble cause has, Alhamdoilah, always ensured our success in the past, and we must preserve this enviable spirit in all conditions," he added.
He said the cadets should justifiably be proud of joining an elite service, which is held in esteem for its devotion to duty and professional excellence. "As worthy successors of your illustrious heroes, you will have to work with singular zeal and total commitment in your respective spheres. You calling will demand of you the best of head and heart and a passion for professional acquisition," he said.
Earlier, on his arrival at the parade ground Chief of the Naval Staff was presented the General Saluate. The chief guest reviewed
the parade and presented the Quaid-e-Azam banner to the new champion squadron, which was No.2 squadron. This was
followed by the award of flying badges and branch in signals to the graduating aviation cadets.
The chairman joint Chief of the Staff Committee's trophy for best performance in general service training was won by aviation
cadet wing under officer Hammad Farqooi.
The chief of the Air Staff trophy for best performance in engineering discipline was awarded to aviation cadet (sergeant) Kashif Mahmood while aviation cadet Arslan Ahmed lifted the Chief of Air Staff trophy for best performance in flying. The coveted sword of honour for best all round performance in the collage of Aeronautical Engineering was awarded to Aviation Cadet (wing under officer) Behzad Ahmed and Aviation Cadet (wing under officer) Hamdad Farooqi was awarded the sword of honour for best all round performance in the college of flying training.
Chief of the air staff air Chief Marashal Mushaf Ali Mir also witnessed the parade on this occasion. Earlier on this arrival to the
parade ground, he was presented the general salute. -NNI
