 Quaid E Azam
 Mohammad Ali Jinnah

Islamabad, December 26, 2001.
Today a two-way (six lane) 3.6 kilometer road which leads to Sana'a International Airport and have important buildings on both sides such as official residence of the Vice President of the Republic of Yemen, Sana'a University, University of Applied Sciences, Air Force Academy and proposed Parliament House and Convention Centre, named after Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah was inaugurated by acting Mayor of Sana'a who holds the status of Minister. The function which was officially arranged by the Yemen Government was attended by a large number of Yemenis and Pakistanis including three Deputy Ministers from the Ministry of Construction and Urban planning and all important officials of the Sana'a Government, says a fax message received from Sana'a (Yemen) here today.
The inauguration ceremony which was simple and impressive was covered by local media both print and electronic. Soon after the inauguration the Acting Mayor took me for a short tour of the road. Expressing Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah's role in the creation of Pakistan he showed happiness over the cordial and friendly relations that existed between Yemen andPakistan, I expressed my profound thanks and gratitude to President Ali Abdullah Saleh, the Government of Yemen and the Mayor and Sana'a city for the gesture of naming the road in the name of founder of Pakistan. I informed the Mayor and other officials that year 2001 was being celebrated as a year of Quaid-e-Azam in Pakistan and the people of Pakistan would always remember Yemen Government's gesture of goodwill and friendliness.
It may be mentioned that naming of road after Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah was initiated by this Mission and recently approved by President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
