Ailing, Injured Hujjaj to get Free of Cost Treatment

Islamabad, December 29, 2001
Ministry of Religious Affairs would provide special medical cover to the
ailing and injured Pakistani Hujjaj (pilgrims) in Saudi Arabia during
current hajj season.
Around 250 members of medical mission would proceed to Saudi Arabia before departure of Hujjaj-e-Karaam to extend free of cost medical facilities to
ailing and injured Hujjaj.
The Hajj Medical Mission would carry along with approximately 25,000 kgs
necessary medicine to provide medical cover to Hujjaj. However, the ministry
was also fully prepared to provide more medicines as per requirement and if
the situation arises. As the selection for the medical experts has already
been initiated, it is hoped the contingent will proceed to Saudi Arabia
prior to reaching of Hujjaj at the Holy land. To ensure appropriate medical
facilities to Hujjaj, the Ministry has engaged experienced faculty members
from amongst the team of doctors.
The religious Affairs Ministry has already hired buildings at Makkah and
Medina to provide accommodation facilities to Hujjaj. It is also being
ensured that maximum facilities are extended to Hujja during their stay at
the Holy land.
