Demand for Pakistani Labour Abroad is Picking Up |

Islamabad, May 6, 2002. Demand for Pakistani labour is picking up in Overseas Market, which earlier nose-dived due to September 11 incidents. However, there has been a strategic shift of Pakistani labour demand in overseas market from un-skilled to semis skilled and skilled labour particularly trained, health workers. To cope with the ever increasing demand of skilled labour as well to capture sizeable chunk of the overseas labour market, Labour Ministry is redefining the role of NTB, by equipping it with latest audio-visual teaching techniques as well as teachers training methods, for ultimate use in the Technical Training Centers, with the sole objective of enhancing the skill of the prospective workers. Dedication, quality, and Honesty of Pakistan labour can be gauged from the fact that the Saudi Government is actively negotiating with the Government to establish training institutes in the country to meet its future skilled labour demand from Pakistani market. In the last fortnight, Saudi Arabia, alone recruited over a thousands Pakistanis workers and professionals for its Health establishment. Keeping in view the ever-increasing demand of Pakistani labour and professional in overseas market, the Overseas Employment Corporation is collecting bio-data of highly qualified manpower including Doctors, Engineers & Scientists for employment abroad. Besides capturing highly, lucrative overseas labour market, our highly motivated labour through remittances, is going to transmit much-needed foreign exchange for the country. |
