Pakistan Not Soponsoring any Movement Cross LOC

Islamabad, July 17, 2002. The Government of Pakistan has been disappointed at the anti-Pakistan remarks made by the Indian Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani and Defence Minister George Fernandes in the Indian Parliament yesterday, a Foreign Office Spokesman said in a statement issued here today.
The Spokesman said that the Indian Government knows very well that the Pakistan is neither sponsoring nor encouraging any cross-LoC movement in Jammu and Kashmir. It is time that the Indian leadership gives up the temptation of blaming Pakistan at every possible opportunity to hide its own ineptitude. It would be far more useful and productive for the Indian Government to enter into a meaningful dialogue with Pakistan to resolve the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and other differences between the two countries. Such a policy would also remove the threat of aggression by India against Pakistan, and enable the governments of the two countries to devote their energies to the task of socio-economic development of their respective peoples.
