Stuffed Pruned  

Ingredients

- 350 g. pitted prunes
- 1/2 cup walnut halves
- 2 tbsp. margarine or butter
- 1 cup water
- 34 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp. Pomegranate syrup*
- juice of 1/2 lemon
(available in Middle Eastern Groceries)




 

1. Stuff each prunes with the walnut halves.
2. Heat butter or margarine in a sauce pan and sauté for about 5 minutes.
3. Add the sugar, water, pomegranate syrup, and lemon juice.
4. Simmer, uncovered, over a low heat for about 20 minutes or until tender and a thick syrup is formed.
5. Serves as a side dish.
6. Serve: 6-8
