 March 2005 - “The
experience at the study tour helped us relate our studies in classrooms to
real world business”. Bilal Qureshi, a Pakistani student at the American
University of Sharjah, states about his experience of the study tour to
Florida, USA.
A group of 26 students from the School of Business and Management in the
American University of Sharjah returned from yet another successful study
tour to Florida. Students comprised of different nationalities namely: UAE,
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, India, Iraq, Greece, Palestine, Yugoslavia, Iran,
Kuwait and Syria. The tour required the students to attend seminars,
lectures and presentations organized by executives of the following
multinational corporations: Royal Caribbean, Motorola, FedEx, General
Motors, Caterpillar, IBM, Deloitte, Disney and Universal Studios. The tour
organizer and leader, Dr. Carol Houser states: “the study tour is an amazing
experience. Students return with a new enthusiasm for their work. They have
met with some of the biggest companies in the world and seen what they have
been studying put into practice”. |
