Responsibilities of the student
of the 21st century Written By: Salman Saeed. Class: X-B. Pakistan International School Riyadh As all of us know that by the end of the 20th century, we have step forward towards the 21st century. Now, we have become the students of 21st century. We are the future of Pakistan. The progress of our country in the future will be in our hands. As being the students of 21st century and future of Pakistan, we have some duties and responsibilities. By fulfilling these duties and responsibilities we can become the best student of the 21st century and the bright future of Pakistan. There are many duties and responsibilities of the student of the 21st century. Some of these responsibilities are: 1: The first responsibility of the student of the 21st century is that he must devote himself to his studies. As Quaid-e-Azam said: "You must devote yourself whole heartedly to your studies for that this is your first obligation to yourself, your parents and to the state." Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal also emphasized that students should be keenly interested in their studies. He said: 2:The second responsibility of the student of the 21st century is that he must respect his teachers. According to me, a student who does not respect his teachers cannot achieve brilliant success in future. If we take a look at the pages of the history, we find many such incidents, which prove that the great personalities of that time also respect their teachers. One of such incidents is of the son of Khalifa Haroon-ul-Rashid. Khalifa Haroon-ul-Rashid was the ruler of that time and his two sons were fighting between them only for putting the shoes in front of their teacher. This incident gives us the message of respecting the teacher. 3:The third responsibility of the student of the 21st century is that he must keep discipline. Quaid-e-Azam also gives us the message of discipline. He said: "Duty, Devotion and Discipline." 4:The fourth responsibility of the student of the 21st century is that he must obey the laws and principles of the school or institution in which he is studying. 5:The fifth responsibility of the student of the 21st century is that he must work hard for the achievement of his goals. Whatever hurdles come on his way, he must fight with it. Quaid-e-Azam was also a hardworking person. He prefers his work and the work of nation even to his food. Allama Muhammad Iqbal also loved the hardworking and high aim students. He said: Our school slogan: "I can, I will" also gives us the message of hard
work. It means that if I can achieve my goals by doing hard work I will achieve them.
