RIYADH, Oct. 18, 2000 With much ongoing improvement on the card in
the field of information technology, ContactPakistan.com is now offering free web space on
its website for the Pakistani schools and the Pakistani welfare organizations currently
existing in the Kingdom.
Each school and organization will be provided with 2MB of their own space on
ContactPakistan.com to build their site, said Tahir Butt, who is the founder of
ContactPakistan.com, the largest community site for Pakistanis in the Middle East and
perhaps the only site on the Internet that is actually a virtual community center.
According to Butt, possibilities are unlimited but just to highlight few, this arrangement
will save money and time for schools and parents as well. The schools can have their forms
online, their fee structures, exam results and expose their activities to the community.
This will help parents to find the right school in their neighborhood.
About social welfare organization, Butt said, "It is great to have their activities
exposed at global level" so good deeds, work as guidance for those who want to
contribute to their society.
Initially, as this service will be offered to the limited numbers to start with, it will
be given to the first come and first serve basis. Currently, the ContactPakistan.com is
visited by over 20,000 visitors daily and has over 40,000 registered members.
It is interesting to know that recently ContactPakistan.com has been selected as an
International case study for "Community Driven Community" sites.
The main idea behind is that it will bring all the information under one roof from where
the Pakistani community in the Kingdom can benefit.
