A Tribute to Urdu News by Pakistani Community in

2001 - A function was arranged to pay tribute to the services of Urdu News and Urdu
magazine in Firdous Restaurant( Harah tul bab) in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. A unique and
solitary attempt in Arab world in the field of Urdu journalism. Muhammad Saleem Zia
Butt(Ex member-Pakistan National Assembly) was the Chief Guest. The chief guest paid high
acclaim to Hisham and Muhammad Ali Hafiz (the founder) and expressed gratitude on their
contribution in bringing out Urdu News/Magazine for Urdu readers in Gulf. He said it is remarkable gift
for the Urdu readers due to which they feel at home and alien in this part of the world.
They definitely enjoy reading current news and feel pleased in getting different kind of
information of their interest. He also pointed out that Urdu News and Magazine have gained
international recognition. Its news network is so strong that it covers important events
and news of the whole world. It has published my news also on different occasions. This
newspaper publishes news and events of the subcontinent and of the entire world so
accurately and resolutely that it gained a very high prestige in the world of journalism. At the conclusion all joined to cut a cake to commemorate the event. The prominent elite such as Mansoor Aziz Qureshi, Khalid Mahmood, Khawaja Muhammad Amjad, Mubashar Iqbal Loon, Shehbaz Din Butt, Muhammad Nawaz, Qari Matin and some other Pakistan community members who attended this memorable function. The participants of the function highly appreciated journalistic services of Mr. Muhammad Amil Usmani, Engineer, (Reporter Urdu News/Magazine) and paid tributes to his services for the sake of Urdu speaking community in the Arab World. |
