Pakistani Ambassador retired general Assad Durrani paid an
unexpected and brief visit to Taif.
Vice Chairman Board of Governors, Pakistan International School,
Engr. Khalid Ahmed Kazi and Major Abdul Hameed, Council Welfare Pakistan
Consulate Jeddah received the Ambassador at Taif airport.
Chairman Board Dr. Javed Ahmed and Principal Fayyaz Ahmed Chandio welcomed
the Ambassador in the school and introduced the other member of the Board,
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Mian, Engr. Khalid Yaqoob, Dr. Pervaiz, Choudri
AbdurRauf and Dr. Nasir Mahmood.
A
group of hale and hearty students gave him guard of honor. During the
round of the school he visited various classes and observed different
educational activities in the Chemistry, Physics and Bio Labs.
The
meeting with the member of the Board was held in School’s library where
educational and administrative matters were discussed.
Chairman Board Dr. Javed briefed the Ambassador about the history and
background of the school, the previous matters and the formation of the
present Board through elections, conducted by Saudi Government.
The one year working and achievements of the board were described and the
future planning was presented.
Engr. Khalid Kazi drew the attention of the Ambassador
towards the problems being faced by the school, specially transport,
computer and the extra fee being paid to Federal Board, Islamabad.
The Ambassador promised to provide every possible assistance,
in solving these problems.
During the working lunch, he instructed the members to keep
up their struggle in solving the school’s problems and do not pay any
heed to hurdles.
The school’s teaching staff openly discussed the
educational and administrative matters of the school in a separate meeting
with the Ambassador.
A brief visit of the historical places of Taif, were also
arranged, after which the Ambassador met the members of the community in
the newly acquired building of the school. He answered different questions
of the community members and had tea with them.
He was seen off, at Taif airport by Engr. Khalid Ahmed Kazi.
Regarding his visit the Council Welfare Major
Abdul Hameed said that for the Ambassador it is a matter of great
satisfaction that the Pakistani Community in Taif takes interest in the
upbringing of their children and he feel that in the prevailing conditions
the school administration is doing a good job. |
