2001 Jeddah - Pakistan Journalists Forum (PJF) organized a
colorful evening commemorating 125th birth anniversary of
the father of the national Quaid-E-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah at a local
restaurant in Jeddah.The Consul General of
Pakistan H.E Ch. Mohammed Nawaz was the Chief guest of the occasion,
while Quaid ‘s bodyguard Shujaa uddin Usmani, and Dr. Anis
ur
Rehman were the main speakers. The event was chaired by president of
PJF Shahid Naeem.
The Consul General
highlighted the different aspects of the struggle for the freedom
movement and creation of Pakistan by the Founder of Pakistan. He also
spoke on current situation of Pakistan when Indian forces are
gathering on the Western boarders with intentions to impose war on
Pakistan. India is mistaken if it thinks that Pakistani people are
having differences and are not united, when it comes to the existence
of our motherland Pakistan and oppression imposed by any country
including India, we are all ready to respond and respond hard, he add.
People of
Pakistan
are united for the integrity and are fully capable of defending their
country. The Consul General urged Pakistanis to stay united and not to
be row beaten by threats of its neighboring country. He said people of
Pakistan
and overseas Pakistanis should trust their leadership which had
already cleared the nation successfully from a bigger imbroglio, the
war against terrorism.
The function was the reflection of the present tense situation. The
messages in all the speeches, songs, choruses and tableaus on the
occasion were based on the famous saying of the father of the nation “
UNITY, FAITH and DISCIPLINE”. The members of different political
parties and social groups were present at the occasion. The main
speakers enthralled audience with published, heart-to –heart and yet
ever-fresh stories which they had unearthed from different sources for
the Jeddah audience. The cultural program on this occasion enthused
the audience greatly, some audience were having tears in their eyes
when small children, who were trained by Mrs. Huma and Nida Khan
presented a tableau depicting unity in the nation. Small children in
colorful dresses showed and proved the solidarity among people. These
little angles taught us a lesson once more that if we are united
against an enemy we are too many to resist.
Asif Hashmi, Atiq Farooqi and A.M. Khan presented the national songs
on this occasion. The function was conduct by Amir Mohammed Khan
while Asad Akram and CH. Jaffar Hussain also spoke at the occasion.
Tahir Jameel a well-known poet presented his poem on Quaid-E-Azam
