PAKISTAN CULTURAL SOCIETY COLORFUL PROGRAM CALLED THE "SONI DARTHI PAKISTAN" ON THE OCCASION OF JASHN-E-AZADI CONCLUDES

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, October 12, 2000 – The newly formed Pakistan Cultural Society (PCS) organized a colorful program titled "Soni Darthi Pakistan" on the occasion of Pakistan 53rd Jashn-e-Azadi (August 14, 2000) at the Pakistan Embassy hall in Riyadh.
It may be mentioned here that PCS was formed back in November 1999 under the chairmanship of Khalid Shuja. Their other office bearers are Syed M. Dilawar, Joint chairman; Farooq M. H. Qureshi, Joint secretary; Taseen Qureshi, finance secretary; Abrar Qureshi, incharge security; Zahid Manzour, advertising incharge and Agha Dehlavi, program coordinator.
When asked what led to the formation of PCS when so many other Pakistani community organizations or groups existed, Khalid Shuja said, "Our PCS main aim is to aid the needy children of the parents who cannot afford to send their children to the school in Riyadh. This gesture can be expanded to other places later."
Once we are established on sound footings and have enough funds, then we will also shift our activity to Pakistan as well in other fields like arranging marriages of the blinds, providing air tickets to the needy families, he pointed out.
At the program, many local singers led by Shahzad Nabi of Fuchs Petroleum, Farooq M. H. Qureshi of Al Alamiah Internet and communication company, and children the delighted the jam packed audience by singing national songs sang by the well known Pakistan singers back home. Children also lended them the required support with their activities which reflected the national feelings for which the program was held.
The chief guest of the evening was Masood Khan, finance director in a project company. The comparers of this program, which lasted past mid-night wee Auranzeb Mughal, Hamid and Syed M. Dilawar. The PCS official photographers were Imran Khan and Liaquat Ali.
Various sponsors gave full support to their first ever-noble gala. These included Mirza Shoukat Ali and Sons. They gave away a bumper prize of a bedroom set. Of the others, cutlery set by Max super store; ten prizes by Fuchs Petroleum, computer related items by Al Alamiah Internet and communication company; arrangement of the electronic games courtesy of Yaseen by Al Hokair entertainment; Madinah restaurant with free sweets for all those present; Al Hamra restaurant; Fasih, public city incharge.
