Sandeman Tangi, near Ziarat. Tangis, long, narrow clefts in mountainsides and cliff faces, a feature of the countryside around Quetta and Ziarat (Baluchistan), are caused by earthquakes. Tangis sometimes link one valley to another through several miles of sheer rock. Sandeman Tangi, however, is shorter than most, ending abruptly in a waterfall that pours down out of the heart of a mountain.
