Assalam alaikum. My question is related to
Pakistani residency and naturalisation laws. I am an English
Muslim, I converted to Islam 10 years ago. I am also educated
to bachelors degree level. My wife is a Pakistani citizen. We
live in London with our three children. I would like my
children to maintain links with Pakistan for Islamic, cultural
and language reasons. Is is possible for me to obtain
Pakistani citizenship by virtue of being married to a
Pakistani woman? I heard that the rules are different for
foreign husbands, please could you confirm this? What
procedure should I follow? Should I apply first, then make an
application on my children's behalf? Thank you.
Personal information to be withheld.
ASsalam.
Allah was kind when you became Muslim. I assure you that you
would
definitely get Pakistani citizenship if you come to Pakistan
and apply to
the Ministry of Interior for citizenship. Your motives are
laudable. Being
English, you are eligible and qualified to become Pakistani;
more so being a
Husband of a Pakistani woman. You can simultaneously apply for
your and your
children's nationality and I am confident that Government of
Pakistan would
grant you citizenship after processing your applications. May
Allah bless
you and your family.

Muslim
scientists and scholars have contributed immensely to human
knowledge especially in the period between 8th and 14th
century CE. However, their contributions have been largely
ignored, forgotten or have gone un-acknowledged.
I would like to share my few collections through CP. So,
people can read fascinating accounts of some of the most
talented Muslim scholars in history whose contributions have
left lasting marks in the annals of science, astronomy,
medicine, surgery, engineering and philosophy.

Cholesterol
Lowering Diet |
When trying
to choose a cholesterol lowering diet, there are many options
you must keep in mind. With heart disease being one of the
number one killers in the world, it’s important that people
monitor their cholesterol with the help of a health
professional. For those individuals who are unfortunate enough
to have high cholesterol, it’s important to find a diet to
help lower your numbers.
Cholesterol and Your Diet
When trying to decide on a cholesterol lowering diet, many
people have found soy products to be very effective. By making
soy protein a regular and sizeable part of your diet, you are
allowing your body to lower its cholesterol naturally. Soy
protein has been proven to help your body lower its
cholesterol, and it also has wonderful anti-cancer benefits as
well.
Another way to lower you cholesterol is by eating plenty of
fiber. Diets rich in fiber help your body to pass fat before
it’s even absorbed. The absorbing quality of fiber helps lower
your cholesterol safely and naturally. Those in search of a
cholesterol lowering diet should consider adding plenty of soy
and fiber.
Managing your weight is also key in lowering high cholesterol
levels. Many people choose diet pills or other healthy weight
loss methods to help manage cholesterol. People with lower
weights tend to have healthier eating habits, and that in turn
keeps cholesterol at safe levels. Even if you have low weight,
be sure to have your cholesterol monitored by a health
professional. |

It is summer time and most of
you are gone back home to visit loved ones. It is such a
thrilling experience when you land back home. Everyone is so
excited that most of us even forget that we need to follow a
queue at immigration. Is it not surprising that we do not cross the black line
here and make sure that even children do not step over but
what goes wrong with us when we are back home?
We think it is absolutely NOT that we forget, what are our
duties being citizen of a civilized nation.
It is simply the FREEDOM - The feel of 'at home' makes us
break all the rules which we never break if we are outside our
country.
It is understandable but is it appropriate? Ask yourself and
do what your brain says is appropriate!
Just imagine such civilized acts can make impact and pave the
way for our loved ones back home to follow. We are ambassadors
of our country, it is our duty to take back home all the good
stuff that we have learned and adopted.
A simple way to serve your
country!
So
many of you have shown interest in this program which promotes
helping each other may it be paid.

Ever wanted to wish upon a star? Well, you have
70,000 million million million to choose from.
That's the total
number of stars in the known universe, according to a study by
Australian astronomers. It's also about 10 times as many stars
as grains of sand on all the world's beaches and deserts. The
figure -- 7 followed by 22 zeros or, more accurately, 70
sextillion -- was calculated by a team of stargazers based at
the Australian National University. Speaking at the General
Assembly of the International Astronomical Union meeting in
Sydney, Dr Simon Driver said the number was drawn up based on
a survey of one strip of sky, rather than trying to count
every individual star. The team used two of the world's most
powerful telescopes, one at the Anglo-Australian Observatory
in northern New South Wales state and one in the Canary
Islands, to carry out their survey. Within the strip of sky
some 10,000 galaxies were pinpointed and detailed measurements
of their brightness taken to calculate how many stars they
contained.

BOURN, England (Reuters)
- In a scene once unimaginable, 1,000 test tube children met
on Saturday to celebrate the 25th birthday of the world's
first IVF baby and the anniversary of the revolutionary
fertility treatment. Since Louise Brown was born on July 25,
1978, more than a million babies worldwide have been conceived
through in-vitro fertilization (IVF). One thousand balloons
were released into the sky over the Bourn Hall Clinic in rural
eastern England as IVF children and their parents sang Happy
Birthday, chatted or danced on the sprawling lawns. Professor
Bob
Edwards,
who pioneered the technique, described the day as a
celebration of success. "We had concepts we thought would work
and they did," he told a press conference, flanked by Brown
and Alastair MacDonald, the first male IVF baby. "To be in the
company of these two people is quite fantastic," added
Edwards, 77, beaming. Brown, who lives in Bristol in
southwestern England and is engaged to be married, said it was
good to see old friends again -- referring to other IVF
children present and the doctors she has known all her life.
But despite the celebrations to mark her birth, which has been
described as one of the great medical and scientific stories
of the 20th century, she said she didn't feel special. "I just
get on with my life normally," she said. But when asked if she
would consider IVF if it was necessary for her to have
children she responded with an emphatic, "Yes." The
celebrations at the Bourn Hall Clinic, where Edwards and his
partner Patrick Steptoe perfected the technique, were a far
cry from the early days of IVF. Removing eggs from women and
fertilizing them with sperm in test tubes was considered a
radical procedure in the 1970s. Edwards and Steptoe, who died
in 1988, were criticized for what they were trying to achieve
and were accused of playing God. Now IVF and other techniques
can help about 75 percent of the estimated one in six couples
who have a fertility problem to become parents. Since Brown's
birth a technique for male infertility called intracytoplasmic
sperm injection (ICSI) and embryo screening to select the best
embryos have pushed success rates to about 25 percent or more
in many clinics. ICSI
involves inserting a single sperm into an egg. Edwards
believes the next 25 years will bring more advances in
fertility treatments. One of the biggest challenges, he said,
is learning more about why embryos do not implant in the womb.
He would also like to see improvements in diagnosing genetic
diseases and the development of stem cells, master cells in
the body that can develop into any cell type, to treat
diseases and to help infertile couples. "This will be a major
miracle," he added. |
