Read and Learn! Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke. Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

1. *Ask the individual to SMILE.

2. *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

3. *Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. . . It is sunny out today)

If he or she has trouble with any of these tasks, call help immediately and describe the symptoms to the doctor.

Thank you for conducting a very nice & informative seminar on the diabetic. Everything was fine except the presentation by the sponsor "Johnson & Johnson". With regards to the tickets offered to the participants of the seminar for a Free One Touch Ultra Blood Glucose Monitor, should not be stated as free since they are asking to buy 4 boxes of the Strips which cost approx. SR. 440 to validate the offer. Anyway it is a good start for the CP organization. I appreciate and thankful to you for arranging this event. Regards, Sarwar Maqbool, Riyadh
Dear Bhai, We thank you for your participation, without you and others were there it is not possible. InshaAllah such informative events will continue. About the free instrument we were absolutely not aware of this fact as it was announced to us during the event. CP does not accept such tricky offers and next time inshaAllah we will be more careful. Where we are thankful to sponsors but at the same time we can not accept this and this has been notified to the sponsor.

CP program of today on Diabetes was really very good. For me it was first time to attend a Medical Educational program organized by a non medical organization in this country. Let me congratulate you on its being informative as well as very well organized. CP maintained a good standard and impression about Pakistani programs poorly conducted has changed through this event especially it was free and with good hospitality standards and offerings. I wish Contact Pakistan all the best and more strength in your future plans. May Allah give you the best reward for this, and keep us on the right path to do good  for the community. Dr. Amjad Mahmood, M.D a proud CP member.
Dear Bhai, thank you for attending and thank you for helping us out when we needed your help during the event. This is the true spirit of CP that we all work together to achieve a goal. InshaAllah such events will continue.

 "These" Children
Assalam-O-Aliakum, folks…Hope you all are well and absorbed in your studies that must be now in full swing after the Ramadan and Eid break.
For this fortnight's issue, lets take up "your" day…yes, I mean Universal Children’s Day that is celebrated each year on November 20th as designated by the United Nations General Assembly. The aim is to highlight the needs of the children and recognize their rights. The day serves to remind the people that welfare, needs and happiness of children deserves importance.
About half a century back, on November 20, 1959 General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. The declaration focuses on basic rights for children and disallows any kind of distinction and discrimination. It states that every child should have the right to get adequate nutrition, housing, recreation and medical services and the physically/mentally challenged children shall be entitled to special treatment, education and care. It detests child labor and emphasizes on making such opportunities available to children that can allow them to progress and enhance his/her talents.
While most of us belong to the fortunate having the affection, care and security of our families, we must know that many other children around the world are deprived of these privileges. There are millions of children around the globe who toil in extreme conditions and yet do not have enough to buy a day's meal. We often treat ourselves to expensive cuisines without even bothering to think about the malnutrition child who was selling the balloon at the road side, or the skinny boy who was working in the automobiles workshop. They are children too and as such entitled to the facilities that all children have. These children not only deserve food, education and health care but also our love and care. All children are equal and so, while we shall be aware of our rights, we shall also regard others’ rights.
Dear fellows, be conscious about this and treat deprived children with kindness. Don’t look down upon them. Share your stuff with them whenever you can. Your affectionate manner will bring smile to their faces and radiance to yours.
