Helpful Tips For Healthy Hair

Bad hair care practices can leave your hair dull, unmanageable and with horrible split ends. Choose the right shampoo for your type of hair (ask your stylist). Normal, dry or chemically treated hair will benefit from a weekly intensive conditioning treatment. Always comb intensive treatment through to the ends of your hair. Cover with plastic and a towel around the hair for up to 30 minutes (to help trap heat in). If you are short on time look for an instant conditioner to use after each shampoo.
Treatments are a MUST at least twice a month.
Let your hair air dry as often as you can.
A balanced diet including fresh fruit and vegetables help to ensure your hair receives all it's vitamins and minerals which it requires for healthy growth. If you know your diet is not quite as good, supplement with vitamins and minerals. They must both be used together to benefit your hair and body. Consult a nutritionist if you are feeling uncomfortable choosing your own.
Don't be surprised if your favourite shampoo doesn't always ensure good hair days. Environmental changes throughout the year can leave your hair dry, greasy and with fly aways. It is a good idea to change shampoo's when you feel the need at least every couple of months)

Tomatoes are very good as a preventative measure for men, keeps those prostrate problems from invading their bodies.

 We Grumble A lot!
Assalam-O-Aliakum!
Dear friends, Hope you all are fine. Vacations have come to an end. Seems that they took wings and here we are with the schools reopening. Wish you all good luck as you start your new terms.
In Holy Quran, humans have been said to be “un thankful”. It is one of the shortcomings of human race that have been told in Quran. We often find ourselves grumbling and complaining. It seems that men would still complain if they had all the maximum eases of the world. A writer in a magazine analyzed this. According to him babies have possibly the easiest life around. They have least worries. They don’t have to attend schools or go to work in offices. They don’t have to deal with bills and other household chores. They sleep and wake at their own free will. They don’t even have to walk to toilet because their mothers look after their toilet needs. They get fed and lulled in arms. Infact, babies have a worry free and the easiest life. Yet they seem to cry the most. It is paradoxical that the ones who have to do the least and have the most ease are the greatest grumblers.
We complain of the petty things that we do not have access to. But I am sure that most of us are more blessed than half of the population of the world. Many in the world do not have clean water to drink. We flush with clean water. There are many starving to death and we have dishes to name at our dining tables. We have been blessed with health. There are many lying in hospitals suffering through curable and incurable diseases. We have roof for shelter and there are many who have no home to go. We have clothes and shoes to wear and there are so many who have only rags to use and no shoes.
When we are in amidst of problems, we loose determination and start complaining to God. We find comparing ourselves with the ones that seem to be doing better than us. There is an innate tendency to complain. The fact is that all the hard and easy times come from Allah. He puts his men into troubles to increase their reward in Aakhirat”. The exams from Creator are not meant to hurt us. He loves us a lot. He sends these tests to wipe off the sins that we have committed off and on. Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said that Allah rewards “momin” for every little worry that he has to bear. It can be as trivial as his searching for a thing in one pocket while it was in the other pocket.
So learn to be thankful to your Benefactor. May Allah give us a “thanking” tongue and a heart full of patience and endurance?

Beyond Opinion

Seek to understand those with whom you disagree, and it will take you far. Seriously investigate and consider viewpoints that differ with your own.
Look for a reason behind the unreasonable. Look for a purpose behind the ridiculous.
You do not have to agree in order to understand. You do not have to give in to another viewpoint in order to gain something of positive value from it.
The world is rich with diverse perspectives. By opening your experience to that richness, you strengthen your own perspective.

If you're afraid to question your beliefs or challenge your opinions, then what value do they really have? By looking beyond your opinions, you make those opinions more compelling. You will cease to merely believe, and begin to truly know.

One Click Shutdown Button Shortcut!

The Steps:

1. Shutdown shortcut: The first step to a your one click shutdown shortcut button, is to right-click on your desktop, now choose New, then choose Shortcut. The Windows Shortcut Wizard will appear. In the box that appears, in the "location of shortcut area" type in shutdown -s to shutdown. For the name leave it shutdown or type in a new name like SHUTDOWN or OFF.
2. Reboot shortcut: The first step to your one click reboot shortcut button, is to right-click on your desktop, now choose New, then choose Shortcut. The Windows Shortcut Wizard will appear. In the box that appears, in the "location of shortcut" area type in shutdown -r to reboot. For the name type in Reboot or Restart.
3. After you have create your shortcuts on your desktop, just double-click on one to shut down or reboot your computer. Now it time to customize your new shortcuts. Remember to come back to WebTechGeek.com for more how to's!
4, Switches you can use with shutdown shortcuts. There are some switches you can use to customize your shutdown shortcuts. To use the switches type in, shutdown -s will shut down PC, shutdown -r
will reboot PC, shutdown -f will forces any running applications to shot down, shutdown -l will log off the current user, shutdown -t nn will indicates the duration of delay, in seconds, before performing the action, and shutdown -c "message" will display a message in the System Shutdown windows, max 127 characters and must be enclosed in quotation marts.
5. I use these two technique to create one shutdown & one reboot shortcuts on my desktop, one for turning off my computer, and one for rebooting. These are the ones I use:

shutdown -s -t 04 -c "later Geek!" - This one will shut down the PC.
shutdown -r -t 04 -c "Rebooting Now!" - This one will reboot the PC.

6. Just a little more customizing. Now your need to change the icons to a better looking icons. Right click on your new shutdown shortcut and pick properties on the menu. Then click on change icon, now pick a new icon for your shortcuts. I picketed the red icon for the shutdown shortcut and a green icon for the reboot shortcut. The shutdown shortcuts are automatically put on your desktop, but to make it more convent I put them both on my toolbar. You can move them by dragging and dropping them on to your quick launch toolbar, it up to you.
Now you have two new one click shutdown and reboot shortcut buttons on your desktop and or toolbar.

Mahreen Butt, 15 is not profiled here because she achieved 6A’s and 2 Bs including couple of stars in her IGCSE, now studying hard for A levels. Neither she is profiled because she is Tahir Bhai's daughter. And certainly not in this prime space of our newsletter because she is the youngest CP founding member. She is also not here because her contribution being a team member since she was just 7 when she did her first web graphics and created children section for ContactPakistan. Is it not a good idea to profile team member who excelled in all fields of her life in this age?

So why is she profiled?

Along the long road of our journey towards uniting each and every Pakistani which Mahreen (Mani) took along with other team members her contribution never ended with just children section. Due to her fondness in digital graphics number of times she created graphics for global site and regional publications. Journey continued and just recently she designed the home page of www.RadioContactPakistan.com . The best that justifies her presence is Project Blood Bank.
It was the first database driven project in PHP computer language for her. We lacked resources for such programming but since we had this suggestion from a CP member and had no tools to make the dream come true, she came forward learned the techniques required to build this project and gave us world's first virtual blood bank.
But worry no more…. We have now Mani around who would help us designing such noble projects in future as well. Without Mahreen’s major participation this project was simply impossible.

Would you like to thank her and reward her?

Just register in blood donation database, be part of
World’s First Community Driven Community Blood Bank
It would not be fair on our part if we do not reward her for all her work since 1998.

Click here to register in the blood bank and thank Mani

Another reason of profiling this young lady is to prove to those who think internet and related activities are bad. Mahreen spends most of her leisure time on internet in a controlled environment. Please do let your children use internet. Remember every thing has two dimensions. One bad and the other good, it is up to our knowledge and wisdom to decide what is right and what is wrong.....
Please do consider, we are already couple of centuries behind!

We don't stop watching TV. Neither Radio nor using video camera? Do we?
Nothing more to make our point, We rest our case !!

Episode 9

Salaam to community!
As a parent it’s our duty to take care of our precious children. Do read this article in the interest of your Child.
“Strabismus”
which we call in Urdu, Bhainga pun. Strabismus is a misalignment of the eyes caused by an imbalance in the muscles of the eye. A newborn baby’s eyes commonly and normally stroll. But, within a few weeks he learns to move his eyes together, and the strolling of eyes should disappear within a few months. If this irregular strolling continues, or if your baby’s eyes don’t turn in the same direction, the muscles that control the eye movement on one side may be weaker than on the other. This condition is called Strabismus. This condition makes impossible for the eye to focus on the same spot at the same time. If your child is born with strabismus, it’s important to be realigned early in life so he can focus them together on a single object. Some children look as though they have strabismus because of the way their faces are structured, but in fact their eyes are perfectly united. These children may have a flat nasal bridge and broad skin folds along side the nose, termed epicanthus, which can distort the appearance of the eye. This is called pseudostrabismus, which means “false eyeturn”. The child’s vision is not affected, and in most cases, as the child grows and the nasal bridge becomes more prominent, the child loses the pseudostrabismic appearances.
Treatment
The treatment of strabismus usually involves exercise, eyeglasses, eye drops or surgery.
If your child needs an operation, the surgery is usually safe and effective, and it is often done between six and eighteen months of age. May be your child need more than one surgical procedure. After surgery, your child still may need glasses.
Because of the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of the true eyeturn or true strabismus, if you have any doubt that your baby’s eyes may not be perfectly aligned and working together, it should be brought to the attention of your pediatrician, who can best determine whether your baby has an actual problem.

Take care of your children; they are your treasure. Until next issue, saying Allah Hafiz.

I simply love RCP programming but one point that I would like to share with CP team is that why don't we have more flavors of programs. Programs such as talking to professionals and sharing their experience with us. For example a doctor can help us learn more about taking care of small babies etc. Please consider my wish a request and do some thing about it. Thank you. Shabeer Shah, Jeddah.
Dear Shabeer bhai, thanks for your comments. Firstly note that we can offer 24 hours live programming provided community participates. When we started RCP the same was conveyed to our community to enjoy the facilities to share their knowledge and talent worldwide. Our doors are always open for those who like to perform. So more participation of community thus more programs to enjoy. About your second question, your mail has given us a good idea, thanks for your community service. Our 1st Sept. programming includes a new program "Zaroori Baat", in this program we will invite Pakistani professionals to share their knowledge with rest of us. Hope you like it.

AROMATHERAPY - Natural Healing LEMON - Essential Oil
Lemons are rich in Vitamins A, B and C and are an essential ingredient in cookery worldwide. They are also a popular home-remedy component for colds, flu and indigestion. The essential oil of lemon is not the same as the lemon juice in its properties. It is extracted from the skin and rind of lemons and has anti-anemic, antiseptic, anti-microbial, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-viral, antispasmodic, anti-infectious, detoxifying, diuretic, digestive, hypotensive and anti-aging properties. Lemon essential oil is also good for both dry and oily skin and helps against acne, boils, corns, warts and brown patches. When added to shampoos, conditioners or hair oils, helps promote hair growth. This oil is also beneficial for arthritis, rheumatism and gout. It improves blood circulation, helps eliminate toxins from the body and lowers high blood pressure. It also has haemostatic properties, which means that it helps stop bleeding, whether it be nosebleed or hemorrhage in any part of the body. Lemon essential oil stimulates the white blood cells in the body and boosts the body’s immune system that is why it is so effective against colds, flu, sore throat, sinus and respiratory infections. When diffused in the room of a sick person, it dis-infects the room, builds the patient’s immunity and cheers him up. Additionally, it is also effective against constipation, loss of appetite, stomach ulcers, indigestion and obesity. Its stimulating and clarifying properties help combat against depression, anger, anxiety, lack of concentration, confusion, headaches and sleeplessness. Lemon essential oil stimulates the brain and sense organs and helps calm bodily stress by boosting the action of the parasympathetic nervous system.
CAUTION: Keep away from the reach of children, always use diluted in a carrier oil, do not take internally, may irritate sensitive and damaged skin, use in small doses to avoid sensitivity, slightly photo-toxic therefore the skin should not be exposed to sun or UV rays for 12 hours after use, should be avoided if user is allergic to lemons, cosmetics or perfumes.
