Saudi Gas, Artic Record File wins in SCC Inter Company Basketball

RIYADH, Oct. 3, 2000 – The teams of Saudi Gas and Arabia Tiles Company Limited (ARTIC) recorded facile victories over their respective opponents MESC and Falcon in the ongoing annual Inter company basketball tournament for the coveted Saudi Ceramics trophy.
In the first showdown, Aris Palmero, Ed De Guzman and Art Bansil delighted for the Saudi Gas as their team won over MESC by 90-63. For the losing squad, Ronald Nobela led the fight back with the support of Ramil Blaza but to no avail as the victors raced quickly towards an unbeatable lead.
The second and the last game of the night saw Artic sailing past the Falcon with 87-56 score. Rommel Galvio top scored with 23 for the winning team. Able backing came from Luis Belen, Gerry Maguilan and Erick Pepito. For the Falcon, only Ronnie Nama and Michael Danao found their targets occasionally.
Of individual prizes given away, the best in uniform trophy, received by Eday Valmonte, went to ARTIC team, wearing blue gala sports outfit with matching kid mascots. Ruben Padna of Al Manhal and Arnel Camit of Abdullatif collected their Power Horse gift packs. This annual event is continuing successfully for the past many years, thanks to the SCC objective of promoting sports activities and better camaraderie in the Second Industrial City. Through the years, the company has lived up to its vision that men with healthy body and healthy mind yield a higher productivity. Today, the Inter company event is the most popular of its class in the industrial area.
It is being supported by NCMS catering, Power Horse Energy Drink, Al Manhal water, Conor, Cod, Galaxy, Visayan, Utex door-to-door cargoes, Dador sportswear and TFC-ANC ABS-CBN.
