By Parwaiz Imam

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, October 24 - The host Ceramics line up found their rhythm to record an easy victory over Al Obeikan by 89 to 68 in their preliminary weekly round matches at the annual Inter company basketball tournament for the coveted Saudi Ceramics trophy.
Supported by their fans, the victorious side played a well-balanced game and adopted good tactics during the course of action. Joseph Carlos (19), Rene Litaua (18), Randy Daquiag (16) and Michael Capuno (14) were right on target whenever they found the opportunity to attack.
Obeikan squad tried their best to catch up through their main stars - Ronald Bulanhague (17), Geoffrey Oliver (11), Edwin Dolorido (10) and Tony Trajano (10) but to no avail.
In the second match of the night, SMI defeated United Wood by 73-62 to keep its chances alive for a place in the next round. Narcon Villanueva was in fine form for the winning side. He ended with high game score of 22 followed by Edwin Sarana who finished with 19 points.
The opponents were slow on the court and many of their shots ever found the basket. Their Rupert Bugahod finished with 14 points while others disappointed their supporters.
