Scottish Scones

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups Flour
- 1 tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2  tsp.  Salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup Shortening
- 3/4 cups Oats (quick or old-fashioned), uncooked
- 1/4 cup Raisins
- 2/3 cup Milk

1. Pre-heat the oven to 425F.
2. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar and rub in the shortening until the mixture resembles fine bread crumbs.
3. Mix in the oats and raisins. Slowly mix in the milk.
4. Turn the dough out onto a floured board. Knead for 1 minute.
5. Roll out to an eight-inch circle that is 1/4-inch thick. Cut into 8 wedges.
6. Bake on a cookie sheet for 12-15 minutes. or until golden brown. Serve warm with butter and honey.
7. Makes 8.
